My Monday Faves #2

I cannot believe the weekend is over already. Doesn’t it always seem to go by so fast? But I am trying to embrace every day and not fret over the weekends. Every day is another chance to get after our goals!

So without further ado, lets get into today’s post. Last week I posted the first “Monday Faves” post. So today we are rounding up number two. Below you will see some of my favorite things from this last week. Feel free to share your weekly faves in the comments below!



We first tried this coffee about 2-3 years ago. We ran out recently but thankfully last month I was able to make a trip to Trader Joe’s and pick some up and I am so glad it is back in my life. It is one of my favorite coffee’s ever! Love this stuff!



This stuff is amazing you guys. I remember in high school I would go to Safeway in the mornings a lot and pick up an everything bagel. I loved those damn things. And this right here, is the real deal. You put this on anything and whaaaaaboooommmm, it tastes just like an everything bagel. I have used it on everything from toast to chicken and even my eggs. You can’t go wrong with this!

Ever since I got my camera (Canon Rebel t3i) a few months ago, I have slowly been learning more and more each day. I still have a long ways to go and so much more to learn, but I am really enjoying close up micro photos. Catching the tiniest details in a photo (like the little fuzzies on these tiny flowers) is a lot of fun to me and I can’t wait to continue to learn more.


  • Homemade Specialty Doggy Treats

My pups are my kids and I spoil them like it. After discovering an adorable IG page of a lady who makes special homemade treats for her dog each day (click here to check out her IG page), I decided to try my hand at it. These are just coconut flour with water kneaded to make a dough. Then rolled in unsweetened coconut flakes. And finally topped with a sliced up strawberry. It was fun and the fur-faces loved them!



Ok this may seem silly, but I know many of us went through some sort of emo stage in our early middle school and/or junior high years. I know I sure did. And during that time I was obsessed with bands like MCR, Blink-182, Cute Is What We Aim For, Breaking Benjamin, etc etc etc. I recently discovered this playlist on Spotify and it brings back all the feels and music memories! I have spend so much time listening to the various artists and hearing songs I haven’t heard in forever! #flaskbackeveryday


Today will be just a normal Monday. A nice and early workout with Ryan, some chores and work around home, then off to the gym to train/coach for a few hours, back home for dinner, and then a relaxed evening. Remember Monday’s are just as good as any other day to chase your dreams and make your goals and reality!

Dog days of summer…

How has your weekend been so far my friends? Mine has been busy busy!

Yesterday we went to a new event in town called the “Dog Days of Summer”. We will get to that but first lets start with breakfast.

My day started with some eggs and a serving of Love Crunch granola. I have seen this stuff before but we finally bought some from Costco. It is organic granola with pieces of chocolate and freeze dried red berries. I ate it with some unsweetened almond milk and it was DELICIOUS!



After breakfast I got ready to carpool with my mom and meet up with a friend at the Dog Days of Summer fair. Basically it was a fair of sorts with all kinds of vendors handing out a shit ton of free samples for dogs. Everything from dog food to leashes to tennis balls and even free samples of doggy beer and wine. Our pups had a blast and made out like bandits!


This is just some of the freebies they got. Being the crazy dog lady that I am, it made me so happy to see so many other people just as obsessed with their fur-faced children. My girls got to meet lots of new doggy friends and they were pretty pooped by the end of it.

We then made a pit stop at the Farmer’s Market on our way home. I picked up some cherries, micro-greens, local beer, and some giant doggy bones that were only $5! The girls have been gnawing away at those things since we brought them home.

I was pretty hungry by noonish and so I decided to whip up some lunch for myself. I cooked up some ground venison and sauteed it with some shredded carrots, shaved brussel sprouts, and diced mushrooms. I cooked it all in just a tiny bit of olive oil and seasoned it with garlic powder and no-salt everything seasoning. It hit the spot!


Ryan spent the day riding yesterday, so the rest of the afternoon was pretty chill. I had puppy training with our Golden Retriever Luna. She was tired yesterday so she didn’t listen as well as she normally does, but we are still making great progress. She is a very good dog, her only issue is she gets a wee-bit excited when she greets people. She gets all jumpy and starts rolling over like a crazy thing. So we are just working on it.

I spent some of the afternoon looking through some gluten-free cookbooks that one of my amazing clients let me borrow. Ryan and I are going back to paleo eating as it works best for us. Plus gluten does not agree with me at all so getting some new fresh recipe ideas is great!


The rest of the night was pretty low key. Keep your eyes open for a delicious recipe that is perfect for summertime!

Just another Thursday…

Hey everyone! I hope you had a great Thursday! It’s Friday for me and I am so ready to start my weekend!

This morning started off with a delicious breakfast! I made two Kodiak Cakes pancakes then spread a mashed avocado between them and topped with sunny side up eggs.

The combination was so delicious!

Work has been pretty slow lately. I started training at my local gym back in March and I am really trying to build up my clientele. I love my clients I have now but I really need to get some more. Patience and diligence I guess!

I am hoping to have a good workout for you all next weekend!

Tonight I had to throw dinner together quicker than usual. I had some lean ground chicken thawed already so that made dinner a breeze. I made a spinach and parmesan farfalle with chicken. It turned out really good. You can find the recipe at the bottom of the page!


High protein, delicious, and super easy and quick. Can’t beat that!

While I was making dinner I also sipped on some Golden Margarita from Costco. This stuff is only $8.99 for a bottle and it is so delicious. Great for those days when you just need a drink!


Now it is time to cuddle with my man and the puppies and enjoy the rest of our night. See you all tomorrow!

Spinach Parmesan Farfalle & Chicken

  • Servings: 4
  • Difficulty: easy
  • Print


  • 1lb ground chicken
  • 1 box farfalle pasta (I used Barilla Protein Plus)
  • 1 cup spinach chopped (fresh or frozen)
  • 1 packet spinach parmesan dip mix
  • Olive oil
  • Optional parmesan cheese for topping


  1. In one pan start cooking the ground chicken. In a pot, add noodles and put on high to bring to a boil.
  2. Once the chicken is almost cooked add spinach and continue to cook until all the extra liquid is gone.
  3. Once noodles are cooked, drain and rinse. Put noodles back in pot.
  4. Add chicken and spinach to the noodles. Add desired amount of olive oil and spinach parmesan dip packet. Mix thoroughly until all noodles are coated.
  5. ENJOY!

Father’s Day Gift Guide

Father’s Day is just around the corner (next Sunday, June 18th to be exact). Many of us are known for being last minute shoppers and never knowing what to buy dad.

  • Plan A Day Activity With Him That He Will Love

This is for the saucier dads out there (get it?). A make your own anything kit is such a great idea. Drones are all the rage right now. And for good reason. They make so many now with live feed cameras that take fun videos and can go just about anywhere. My dad got one and loves it. It has been so cool to see some of the fly over footage he has taken. This one is a great affordable option for that techy dad in your life.

You can never go wrong with a handmade gift. Whether it be a bottle opener like this one, a scrapbook, some framed pictures of the kids, coupons for things to help him out with, etc. Put some thought and time into it and dad will see how much he means to you!

Why do we compare ourselves…

Oh the age old issue. Comparing ourselves to others. Whether it be our bodies, our relationships, our income, the car we drive, the clothes we wear, etc etc etc. We are always comparing our story to someone else’s; whether we like to admit it or not.

Now this may seem like a cliche topic, but no matter how many times we may hear it, I think it is important to hear it again. Below is a picture comparison of me. On the left I am standing normal, straight on, not posing or doing anything to make the shot more flattering. On the right I am posed and twisted just right, making the booty pop, flexing my upper body slightly, and playing to my flattering angles.


Do I prefer people to see my like I am in the left photo? Of course not. We all want to show off out best angles and assets. But does that make me any less beautiful, talented, worthy, strong, funny, or caring in the left photo? Hell no!

We spend so much of our time comparing our normal angles to other peoples “good” angles, that we forget we have good angles too. But our normal angles (this can apply to body or work or life or whatever) are just as amazing. You have worked hard for that angle. Of course it is okay to be proud of your good angles, you worked damn hard for those, but don’t forget that even the happiest or best looking people have normal angles too.

Self love is hard. We have to work at it. Our relationship with ourselves is just as important as our relationship with others. It takes work. It takes time. It takes love and nurturing and trust and respect. There are gonna be bad days. We are all going to look at some aspect of our lives at time and think, “but why can’t it be like this instead”? THAT IS OKAY! The biggest thing to remember is don’t let that mindset be your main one. Let those thoughts come and then let them go. Don’t dwell on it or overthink it. Accept it and the let it pass.

So be weird. Be crazy. Be silly and fashionable and strong and hippie and tomboy and whatever the hell you want to be. But whatever you choose to be, be a good one.

My Monday Faves #1

Happy Monday friends!

There is a lot to be thankful for and a lot to be appreciative of. One thing I have tried to really incorporate in my life is noticing the little and big and mundane and spectacular things that bring me joy each day. This post is inspired by the ever popular “Thing’s I’m Loving Friday” posts on PB Fingers blog (one of my faves that I have followed for over 5 years now).

I want to be able to share with you guys some of the things each week that make me smile and would love to hear what you loved as well!


I got these silicone wine glasses about a week or so ago and LOVE them. I have used them for everything from wine (duh!) to margaritas to water. They are dishwasher safe, unbreakable (which is necessary with two crazy fur faces), and so cute! Plus you can pack them up and take them anywhere, a must have for the summer!



Ok this stuff is a game changer you guys!This is the TARTE Tarteist Lip Paint in the color Vibin’ (I also love love the Rose color too!) I got this in my Ipsy subscription last month and wasn’t sure about it at first but I LOVE this stuff. It dried so fast, the color is vibrant but not cheesy, and it lasts forever. I know a lot of lip colors say they will last for hours, but this stuff truly does. And that is coming from a girl who can’t keep lip color on for more than 10 minutes.



Hand-Me-Down Seashells

The other day my mom was cleaning out a bunch of home decor items that she has had stored forever. So I got to go “shopping” and pick out some things to bring home for myself. I love getting items from her that I grew up seeing and now get to incorporate into my own home. One of the things she gave me was a huge bag of seashells. All of these shells were either from Long Beach, WA or Mexico. There are so many memories behind these shells and I love that they are now displayed in my home where they make me smile every time I walk past them.



Watching Ryan & Our Pups Play

It never ceases to amaze me how watching a dog play can bring an instant smile to my face. They don’t have any worries or fears, they just love to be happy and play and be puppies. My girls have really helped me to embrace the little things in life and appreciate each moment. I especially love watching Ryan play with the pups. It makes me smile to see them all running around and acting like total goofballs!



Easy Meal Prep Recipes

Ok I promised my Instagram readers yesterday that I would share this recipe with you all. Meal prep is one of those things that I enjoy when it is easy and doesn’t take hours upon hours. This meal took me about 5 minutes to throw together and throw in the oven. With some potatoes, baby carrots, broccoli, and chicken sausage, this easy meal prep recipe will have us full for lunch all week! Check out just how easy it is for yourself in the recipe below!


Chicken Sausage & Veggies Throw Together

  • Servings: 8
  • Difficulty: easy
  • Print


  • 2 packages of chicken sausage (I use Aidell’s)
  • 8-10 red potatoes quartered
  • 3 cups broccoli cut up into pieces (about 1 large head)
  • 3 cups baby carrots
  • olive oil
  • seasonings of choice (I use Mrs. Dash, onion powder, and garlic powder)


  1. Line baking pan with foil and spray with non-stick cooking spray. Pre-heat oven to 375 degrees.
  2. Quarter red potatoes & chop up broccoli into desired sized pieces.
  3. Organize veggies in bottom of pan and drizzle with olive oil and desired seasonings of choice.
  4. Place chicken sausage on top of veggies and put in the oven for 30-45 minutes or until carrots, broccoli, and potatoes are cooked through.
  5. Remove from oven and eat immediately or store for meal prep throughout the week!
  6. ENJOY!

Healthy Cucumber Noodles & Shrimp

I feel like I never eat enough in the summer time. Or I’m never hungry. Which is weird, cause I am always hungry. Most of the time I want something cold, fresh, and refreshing to eat. Like salads, fruits, and veggies. Allllllll the veggies. That is why my Veggeti Spiralizer gets so much use in the summer time. That poor thing is noodling all day errday.

If you don’t know what a Veggeti is, where have you been? It is a super simple and cheap handheld spiralizer. So basically you can make noodles out of any veggie. My faves are cucumbers and zuchinni.


Last night was one of those nights where I wanted fresh tasty food. We had lots of veggies and some salad shrimp so dinner was thrown together in a matter of minutes.

I spiralized the cucumbers (3 total split between Ryan and I), diced up some green pepper, shredded some carrots, and thawed out the salad shrimp. I also topped the salad with light italian dressing but I also love to use lemon juice as well. It turned out so yummy and the best part about big veggie packed meals like this is they are SO filling. Give me all the fiber and micronutrients! (you can find the full printable recipe below).



I got sick on Tuesday which was shitty. So the last few days I haven’t felt great in the gym. This morning thankfully I had an awesome arm workout that left my arms dangling like limp noodles when I was done. Nice visual eh? One of the neat things, and this may sound weird, is that I am finally getting a visual bicep vein. I am one of those weirdos who thinks vascularity is really cool, and I am not naturally vascular at all. The bicep vein is the one I have always wanted and it is sloooowly starting to pop out. Ha! Don’t mind my weird looking super pale arm!


I have Friday, Saturday, Sunday off so hopefully I will get plenty of sun and we can spend some more time outside with our puppers. Looking forward to maybe one or two good hikes this weekend. Sunshine and sweat!

Cucumber Noodles & Shrimp

  • Servings: 2
  • Difficulty: easy
  • Print


  • 3-4 cucumbers
  • 2 cups small salad shrimp
  • 1 green bell pepper
  • 1 red bell pepper
  • 4 large carrots shredded
  • light italian dressing (or lemon juice)
  • seasonings of choice (I use Tajin or Mrs. Dash Fiesta Lime)


  1. Spiralize cucumbers using veggeti or spiralizer. Divide between two bowls. Using scissors chop up the noodles unless you like crazy long noodles!
  2. Shred carrots and dice up peppers. You can add as many veggies as you would like. The more the merrier!
  3. Make sure your shrimp is thawed and cooked if needed.
  4. Top with dressing and seasonings and mix all together.
  5. ENJOY!
